The data analyst cover letter has a specific trap: describing analyses instead of outcomes. 'Built dashboards and analyzed churn data' is homework; hiring managers are screening for analysts whose work changed a decision, a process, or a number. The letter is also your first communication sample, and communicating findings is half the job description.
